Jake Kurdsjuk  Solo Show at Warren County Hall Gallery

The Warren County Cultural & Heritage Commission is pleased to announce the opening of Jake Kurdsjuk’s photography show at the Hall Gallery in the Wayne Dumont Jr. Administration Building, on Route 519 in Belvidere.

Jake Kurdsjuk is a photographer, musician, and writer who earns his living as a full time data warehousing specialist. A resident of Warren County, NJ for the past 24 years, Jake’s photography is an extension of his lifelong love of the outdoors and a fascination with nature.  “I think mankind has lost its sense of awe, especially as it relates to the natural wonders around us. Science has explained so much that I feel it’s caused us to take the things around us for granted. The majesty of a sunrise, a young bird’s first flight, the constancy of a rock formation that laughs at the length of time any of us will be on this planet, the intricacy of a leaf, the delicate beauty of a simply flower, the ‘How the heck does it fly?’ nature of a bumble bee. This is amazing stuff, and all I have to do is keep my eyes open and my brain tuned in and it’s there for me – no hunting involved. The goal of capturing the completeness of any of these should be enough to inspire anyone.”

For his show at the Wayne Dumont, Jr. Administration Building, Jake has chosen photographs taken in Warren County exclusively. All were taken less than 13 miles from his back door, with several of them actually shot just feet from it.  The selection is a combination of wildlife, landscape, and fine art images, with some of them shot using a camera converted to capture only infrared light.

Jake’s work has been previously shown at MThomas Galleries in Haddonfield, NJ, and has been sold worldwide by UK Retailer Next.co.  You can see more of his work on the Backdoor Arts Facebook page at http://Facebook.com/BackdoorArts, and on his website, www.BackdoorArts.com

Jake Kurdsjuk’s one person show is presented by the Warren County Cultural and Heritage Commission, supported by the Warren County Board of Chosen Freeholders, and is funded in part by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts. The accessible Administration Building Hall Gallery, in the Wayne Dumont Jr. Administration Building, on Route 519 in Belvidere, is open during regular business hours through September.
